Translational Research Fellow
(Post Doctorate Fellow)
IIT Indore
Nikhil Ji Tiwari was born in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, India, where he completed his early education. After schooling, he moved to Gorakhpur for higher studies. He received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from St. Andrews College, Gorakhpur, affiliated with Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, India, in June 2017. He subsequently completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur in June 2019.
He later joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore in January 2020, where he earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences under the supervision of Prof. Rajneesh Misra. Currently, he is working as a Translational Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Fellow) at IIT Indore in the same research group.
His research interests span Organic Photonics and Organic Electronics, with particular emphasis on organic optoelectronic materials, organometallic systems, and energy storage applications.
My research interest lies in the rational design and synthesis of π-conjugated donor-acceptor (push-pull) organic and organometallic materials for advanced optoelectronic, photonic, and energy-related applications. My work integrates synthetic organic and organometallic chemistry with detailed photophysical, electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, charge-transport, and energy-storage studies, supported by computational calculations, to establish structure-property relationships. I am particularly interested in developing multifunctional chromophores exhibiting near-infrared absorption, thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), efficient Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET), ambipolar charge transport, and reversible multistate redox activity, with potential applications in OLEDs, perovskite and organic solar cells, electrochemical energy storage devices, nonlinear optical systems, fluorescence sensing, and next-generation optoelectronic materials.
